So you are looking for a newborn photographer? With so many options out there, how do you decide? Here are five tips to choosing a newborn photographer.
You need to love the photos they take. Take a look at their website, Instagram and Facebook pages.
How long have they been in business? Have they been doing newborn photography from the beginning? What type of professional development have they done?
You want to hire a newborn photographer who knows what he/she is doing.
Ask to see the entire gallery from a session. To get a true feel for the type of results you are likely to have, you want to see a full session.
4) Pricing and Packages
Be sure to take a look carefully at pricing options prior to booking so you met with any surprises. There are two types of pricing models: all-inclusive and a la carte. Neither one is better than the other, it is personal preference.
All-inclusive pricing is when the session fee and the digital files are included in one price. Once you pay the all-inclusive fee, you will not be expected to
A la carte pricing is when the cost of the session and the cost of the digital files and/or prints are purchased separately.
5) Personality and Customer Service
You need to like your photographer! You want to feel confident in their abilities, relaxed and at ease. You want to be take care of. Newborn photography is a luxury item and you should be treated well. Has the photographer answered your emails timely? Do you understand what to expect? Does he/she offer a consultation prior to your session? Your relationship with your newborn photographer begins from your very first point of contact – be sure it is a good one!
